The message: SWISS connects Hamburg residents with destinations throughout the world in its own special way. The idea: we use an ancient Hamburg institution to win residents’ hearts for the airline and show the range of destinations on offer: the tower trumpet player of St. Michaelis church. Day in, day out, he climbs the tower of the St. Michaelis church, plays a memorable melody on his trumpet in all four compass directions and greets the residents of Hamburg in this wonderful way.

We accompany the tower trumpet player of St. Michaelis to the tower, pretending to film a report. At the same time, we post the alpine horn players, in traditional Swiss costume, on the surrounding roofs. Each player has a cameraperson with them. In addition, we set up a drone, which provides us with great images from the air. The film shows the preparation of the alpine horn players, the unsuspecting trumpet player going up the tower, his touching surprise in response to the unique greeting from all four compass directions, and finally the whole scene from the air – with an acoustic backdrop of the interaction between the trumpet and the alpine horns. The powerful image and our video are seen on Facebook and YouTube. Newspapers, magazines and television report nationwide.

SWISS promises every Hamburg resident who travels the world in any direction that they will give them the same level of attention as the trumpeter in the tower. The documentation of the unique concert quickly fascinated the Facebook community. The video on the campaign received 1 million hits from social media users in Hamburg and northern Germany. It received more than 10,000 likes, comments and shares on Facebook alone. TV magazines and online media shared our video not only in Hamburg, but all across Germany. Total audience: 10 million.
