In Finland, Valio has over one hundred years of experience in the international dairy industry. Valio is known for its high-quality products – for Finnish consumers Valio logo associates easily with milk, butter, cheese and yoghurt.

We separated in a laboratory the most important nutrients from milk, such as calcium, milk protein and vitamin B12. To get a closer look at the samples we used a scanning electron microscope (SEM) that produces images of a sample by scanning the surface with a focused beam of electrons. We had to wait for a perfect moment to scan the high-resolution images. Even the smallest changes in the magnetic field could have easily ruined the end result. After a successful scanning process we chose the most interesting looking details of each nutrient.
