Overview

Description

We took a court in the heart of New York City, Terminal 23, and transformed it into something more - a hyper-connected space that uses real time data to track player and ball movement in three dimensions.

Every second of a player’s performance is analyzed, so adjustments can be made on the spot, raising every game to the next level. It’s clear that to be the best, first you need to be better than you were yesterday.

Execution

Powered by Shot Tracker technology added to three points on a court: a player’s shoes, the ball and the ceiling, an algorithm captures complete player performance and provides instant analytics, including box scores, play efficiency ratings, shot charts, optimal lineups, player to player analysis, player rankings and improvement areas. The system also provides a complete practice report delivered straight to your phone at the end of each play.

Outcome

During the activation, 35,505 shots were taken and over 1300 kilometres run. Over 80 hours was spent engaging with the technology. The impact it had on every player’s game was clear. It’s the kind of technology that leaves its mark on those who need it most, and those who don’t think they need it at all. Either way, if you want to be a better basketball player, you have to let the court be the coach.
