Description
We honored a season that was both successful and artful by constructing a piece of art--using nothing but golf balls.
Execution
We descended upon Dallas, Texas---Jordan’s hometown---and set out to create a mosaic likeness of Jordan using nothing but golf balls -- 24,152 to be exact.
The finished mosaic – which measured 60’ x 40’ – was open to the public and could be seen from the surrounding city office buildings, apartments, and hotels. A national TV spot was created from the project, as well as time-lapse video of the entire two-day process, which was placed on AT&T’s YouTube and Facebook pages. The entire installation was comprised only of golf balls placed atop tees in grass. The whole mosaic could only have been constructed by hand.
Outcome
The mosaic received attention from both local and national news coverage while populating major web outlets such as ESPN, CBS Sports, and Fox Sports. Social media posts alone had a potential reach of over nine million impressions.
