Most hotel magazines, even at the top end of the spectrum, lack a distinct point of view and an ownable look and feel. Our objective with The Navigator magazine was ambitious. We wanted to single-handedly raise the bar on traditional hospitality brand publications by creating a compelling editorial platform for the brand that is absolutely on par with every other consumer title on the target audience’s iPads/coffee tables – from Forbes to Esquire, from Fast Company to Conde Nast Traveler.

With an aspirational target audience, we worked with some of the best magazine publishers in the world to create a modern publication with a unique style that was in-line with millennial targeted lifestyle publications. Every single graphic contained in the magazine was created specifically for it to fit with the look and feel. We wanted it to be simple, clean, colorful and most of all easy to digest for someone short on time.

Outcome

The final product is a playful and elegant magazine that looks as good as it feels and that can compete with the best lifestyle publications in the world. The Navigator collects insider know-how, expert recommendations, and discerning inspirations. Whether you have 4 hours in Shanghai or 48 hours in Sonoma, The Navigator At Renaissance Hotels brings discoveries to the time-starved traveler with charm and style.

Whilst it is difficult to accurately measure readership for hotel magazines, Marriott have received extremely positive audience feedback and will continue beyond the first two issues.
