Description

As part of the Recycled Teenagers, Margaret has found a place where she belongs. ‘Retired not expired’, the group of over 55s meets regularly at Sutton House to laugh and joke, do art and craft, dance and socialise. It provides a lifeline for people in London who often live in blocks of flats and don’t even know their neighbours or go out, but stay ‘a cabbage at home’. Multicultural and diverse, Sutton House is the centre of the community, bringing people together to share their lives. Not related by blood, but one big family, Margaret describes how she is surrounded by people who love her and who she loves. She introduces us to many of the characters there, including ‘troublemaker’ Natalie, showing off some of her moves, and their young dance teacher Stuart, who says that while he goes home aching the group goes away 20 years younger.
