We planted the Naked Juice “Power Garden” in downtown Chicago at 2 North Riverside Plaza, right in the urban jungle.
We grew the six different vegetables featured in the new juice line, and used a combination of environmental, motion and touch sensors, along with Twitter data, to shape its dynamic, living personality.
The Power Garden sensed when people passed by and literally called out to them for on-site engagement, while updating digital signage dynamically with facts about each veggie plot. Each vegetable had a unique voice that responded to touch by whistling, giggling and singing.
The garden had its own Twitter handle, @ThePowerGarden, that responded in real-time to tweets. Any tweet that mentioned “water” activated a sprinkler system.
Over its 55-day lifespan, the plants received 1.3 million physical touches, captivating one-in-four people who passed by.
