Description
A CGI character weary of living within a fake pixelated CGI city discovers the Real Deal: a Toyota GT86 from the real world and finally what it feels like to be alive for the very first time. Unfortunately, where he's from, feeling real is a capital offence. End lIne Toyota GT86: The Real Deal.
Execution
Toyota’s GT86 commercial, Director worked with VFX team to tell a story that mimics the car’s key value – breaking out of a monotonous synthetic existence with the power, control and excitement of real life. Using VFX team considerable experience, the Director worked with artists to create everything from digital characters to a stunning full virtual world.
The spot promotes the new Toyota GT86, a sports car that puts control in the hands of the driver rather than computerised systems. VFX team supervised the motion capture shoot to capture the real movement of the two main characters and then worked with a team of 18 artists for eight weeks to complete the project making use of their production-proven processes for building digital human characters, cars and environments.
Under our and Director's direction VFX team handled the production from previs to virtual production, live-action integration, 2D and 3D animation and tracking, photo-real hair and cloth, and more – without any dedicated R&D, to create a real car escaping from a cgi world'.
