Background
This year, Hennessy released its most ambitious campaign for Hennessy X.O : The Seven Worlds. This short film tells an odyssey through the taste of cognac, 7 tasting notes represented as planets, worlds we created to represent each taste. In the end, the film looks like an epic and grand space odyssey and is filled with fantasy and meaningful images and stories. The campaign has been launch the 14th of march in the Elysee Biarritz Cinema. This event deserved a film poster. And a good one.
Idea
The director never hid his love and fascination for the french comic artist Moebius. References to his work can be spotted all along the film. We wanted the posters to have an epic, almost mythological quality.This vertical illustration is a travel from earth to space. We discover seven planets, a nebula god and a mysterious shadow figure. It is all about shape, shadow and negative space. We never see, we imagine. the illustration plays with the scale of the different elements. The human is about the same size as the planets, when the nebula god figure seems to take over the space and sky. But it is made of powder and clouds, making him less tangible than the laters. At the end, each element balances the whole, and everything seems to be at the right place.
Like some sort of cosmic order.
