Description

We open our eyes… inside a beautiful Volvo XC60, parked on an empty beach. It’s pitch black. Through the windscreen we see dark ocean before us, lit by the moonlight and the XC60’s headlights, radiating out across the water. From our place in the driver’s seat, we take in the interior of the car, then exit through the open door, round the back, towards the water, the radio from the car fading into the distance, drowned out by the sound of the ocean as we reach the shoreline…

… then out into the surf. Through the water, through the thundering crash of enormous waves – battling. Until we’re out. Serene. Quiet. We join a lone woman, staring out towards the horizon, sat perfectly still on her surfboard. Waiting. We follow her gaze, to a blackness approaching. A wave so big that all sound stops as we go into a state of pure adrenaline. She turns. We turn.

We rise up. The camera rises up. The enormous wave behind us lifting everything in its path. We see our surfer swipe one graceful, powerful arm into the water… then we cut. Just as the wave is about to break.
