We started by recording, processing and layering human vocals to explore the various reactions of the creatures. However, to push this further beyond the human voice, a variety of animal sounds were layered amongst the sound design, from the growl of a lion, the click of a gecko, the squish of an octopus, to the purring of a cat. Selectively layering in these sounds with the perfect intonation and cadence of the vocals allowed the aliens to deliver their full scope of emotions: a key to the viewers’ connection. Through a mix of organic and inorganic sounds, an Intergalactic creature and ‘language’ was created and broadcasted across the globe and into the universe.
