Description

There is an incredibly wide offer of TV series and it can be difficult to spot the ones you love. People who are passionate about them, take the choice of a new one very seriously. They know what they’re looking for: intrigue, love, laughs, blood. It is very clear to them what they want when “falling in love” with a series.

So, how can they be sure to make the right choice when searching? What to ask Google? Are trailers and reviews enough to understand if that series is “the one”?

Sky, with the widest offer of TV series in Italy, created the TV series Equalizer. A unique tool able to transpose your tastes into the titles you'll love.

Execution

An equalizer is a tool used in music with the aim of adjusting the quality and character of the sound.

We used the same concept: adjusting people’s preferences about TV series to improve the effectiveness and relevance in the search of a new one to watch.

We built a simple mechanism: people are asked to set a value from 0 to 10 for 8 parameters by simply dragging up and down the levers, with 100 million possible combinations. Parameters represent the kind of content they’re looking for. Values indicate how important each of those parameters should be in the mix.

The result is a wall of contents instantly reordering to better match inputs added. Users can navigate and discover, by simply scrolling the page, the vastity of Sky offer and enter the world of each series in just 1 click.

Clicking on each title in fact, users can discover the details of the chosen series through trailer, plot and a visual diagram that shows his "serial profile" and how close it is to that series.

With every move of the levers, users refine their serial profile until it’s clearly defined and the results perfectly match their tastes.

The Equalizer can be used from all devices in order to have a tool availble for browsing at any time, with the same user experience.

Design is clean and linear, leaving the scene to the main focus of the tool: users passion about TV series.
