A Utopia unravels when everyone realizes they left out something pretty important.

To populate our perfect Utopia, we needed lots of diverse characters and didn’t want to fill the place with cookie-cutter models.

We also needed to cast primarily in Toronto, where we filmed.

And we needed to find the right celebrity to add to the mix.

So, over casting sessions in Toronto, Los Angeles and New York, we found a wide range of actors, musicians and stunt people. All roles were open to any gender, age or ethnicity. As we found the right actors, we adapted the characters to their personalities.

We cast Chris Elliott as our resident celebrity to take advantage of his self-deprecating humor and cult appeal.
