Description
The ‘Bogey Man’ is a common allusion to a mythical creature used in many cultures used to frighten children into good behaviour. Parents tell their children that if they misbehave, the bogeyman will get them.
And he has a particularly prominent part to play around Halloween. It’s like he only comes out at this time of year.
So by using this idea of a bogey man in context with getting a cold, the headline ‘Beware of the Bogey man’ has a clever double meaning.
