The flag of light was made in the shape and colors of Israel's national flag. The due date of lighting it up fully was scheduled for Israeli Independence Day. These two factors gave the donation project a national essence and transformed the mission of lighting up the flag (by donating money) from merely a mission of helping a few distressed adolescents, to a nation mission.
Outcome
It was a success was in all factors: A rise of 5 million New Israeli Shekels (NIS) or U.S$1.2 million through donations.75% of unaided awareness to "ELEM", a figure which made it the country's second most recognized non-profit organization.More than 150,000 text messages were received.
