Shadowbanning has long been a challenge for companies and professionals who work with s3xuality and are trying to expand the conversation on s3x. When platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook censor content, it can be a struggle to communicate about one of the most natural things in the world. To make matters worse, shadowbanning equals decreased exposure, which in turn has consequences for reach, engagement, and ultimately sales.

Peech wanted to reclaim the language around s3xuality and invite everyone to join - both as a tool to solve their own business challenge and also to promote the brand’s values and open-minded positioning.

Instead of being frustrated by something you can’t change, why not claim ownership instead? That’s why Peech launched s3xy shortcuts - an anti-censorship ‘dicktionary’ for all those communicating about s3x and s3xuality online.

s3xy shortcuts replaces certain letters with numbers whenever ‘forbidden’ words are used to make communication about s3x a lot more smooth and slide around the censorship of the algorithms.

We openly shared our anti-censorship 'd1ck-tionary' with other businesses and encouraged them to download it from our web-shop. This approach gave away the tools to proactively address the issue and activate our followers, friends, and even competitors in the fight for a free and liberated internet.

Launched on Peech’s own social channels, the campaign sparked action right where the issue of shadow-banning takes place. Over the course of a week Peech pushed organic content to their 100,000+ followership online, then followed up with content showing the tool in use across a series of Instagram stories.

This drove s3x brands and s3xfluencers to download the list of shadow-banned words to their suite of devices, then upload it to their keyboard shortcuts, which immediately autocorrects all the words that would usually get caught by the algorithm. This means that penis becomes p3nis, vulva becomes vulv4, and so on. That way, people communicating about s3x online don’t risk overlooking a word that could get them banned.

A creative utility within a targeted community - s3xy shortcuts can be used into the foreseeable future with no end date.
