"Our main technical challenges were, how to realize the director’s vision, and to reduce the processing time so that this content can be viewed on smartphones. There were no definitive solutions, but for the 3 of us developers to repeat trial and error until completion.

Because of the immense number of combination patterns, it increases CPU load and memory usage. Our challenge was to make the content as closest as possible to the ideal performance, and still have it viewable on smartphones. We tried countless means to find the solution. One of the measures we took was to phase the loading, to reduce the load time.

To make a content that can be experienced on smartphones, the 3D models were illustrated in low poly style, the animations were short loops and the number of objects were minimised. For instance, the elephants have a 2D look to keep the touch which was originally drawn by director Makino. The elephant is made with multiple parts moving differently. We used C4D to apply the 2D texture to a board shaped polygon mesh to make it into one JSON object.
