THE IDEA
Our solution was inspired by cymatics: the study of sound and vibration made visible through patterns that are formed when sound frequency is introduced to a medium like water or fine grains of salt.
For the brand’s identity, we had created and recorded dozens of cymatic experiments using the brand's logo as the centre point.
For the business cards, we wanted to bring the new logo to life to reveal this process.
Execution
DESIGN EXECUTION
The Virgin Radio logo features prominently in the middle of the card and is amplified by a static image of a cymatic pattern.
The logo could then be scanned with an image recognition smartphone app, revealing a full video of the actual cymatic experiment in motion.
Users can then "Add to Contacts" and download the person’s contact details directly to the phone’s contact list.
Outcome
Feedback from recipients is that Virgin Radio appears to be a contemporary, relevant brand that is in touch with it's consumers.
