Description

Our mission is contribution to Japanese people’s eye health by raising AMD awareness. AMD is an eye disease that causes visual distortion and/or impairment which may lead to blindness if untreated. AMD affects 1.2% (approximately 700,000 people) of the Japanese population aged 50 and. But almost Japanese people do not know what AMD. Our campaign aims to raise awareness of AMD symptoms and encourages potential patients to consult with ophthalmologists. We call our campaign is 'AMD Self-Assessment Project'. AMD is easily checked by a tool called 'Amsler grid'. We show 'Amsler grid' through holistic campaign- TVC, News Paper, Online ad, Brochure and more. According to the post survey the result of our campaign, understanding of the disease increased by 214%, intention to consult an ophthalmologist increased by 184% and aaccess to the campaign website increased by 515%.

Execution

We planed this campaign as 4 steps.

Have potential patients identify their AMD symptoms through the campaign with the Amsler grid.

Deriver potential patients to Web site and tell them deep information of the disease.

Consult a doctor by getting information on the website 'hospital search system'.

-step4

We research and analyze how many people consult doctors through this campaign for next campaign.

Outcome

Disease Awareness Campaign was a Success.
