For the launch of the Ampera we found the best testimonial for an electric car you could think of:Electricity itself.
And thanks to some small electronics we made electricity speak for the Ampera.We offered simple power sockets to the customers of an electronic market. For free.Additionally motoring journalists got a parcel with the power socket.When they used it, they experienced a surprise they would never forget:Electricity spoke to them – out of the power socket.
Outcome
People were astonished at how electric mobility could now be part of their life. The Ampera got the best motoring press coverage in Opel’s history and finally became Car of the Year 2012.
