Description
The fun side of the force is what happens when millennials take the force of Star Wars and put their own unique and disruptive take on it.
Execution
In this film we see the ageless struggle of good and bad, light and dark, played out in our audience through the iconic John Williams Star Wars score. Young people around the world hum, tap, sing and rhythmically bring the light side and dark side theme songs to life as tools of inspiration and intimidation in their life pursuits. That is until DJ Snake finds his own inspiration and and uses his HP notebook to mash-up the lightside and darkside themes and create a the fun side of the force in a new track.
The spot played on TV, online and in-cinema in the lead-up and launch of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It was supported with media in over 60 countries worldwide.
Outcome
The partnership between HP, Disney and DJ Snake was a massive success. Interest in the song was major topic on music blogs, listeners were dying for the full track and multiple rips from the TV spot, reposted and further remixed were posted to YouTube racking up additional views and engagement.
All that buzz…and HP had over 100% sellout of it’s special edition notebook.
