For this spot we needed to create complex visual effects sequences for four beloved IP's (intellectual property). From a T-Rex bursting through an IMAX screen, to robots battling each other and destroying buildings in Shanghai, we needed to match the level and quality of VFX that each of these IP's receive in their theatrical releases. We were challenged to work with existing assets in conjunction with CG elements to achieve a seamless final composite.Houdini was used for all of the particle systems in the spot from ground cracking, city buildings collapsing, and when the house at the end pulls apart to reveal Universal Park. Maya was used to create the 3D assets and animation, substance painter is used for 3D textures on the dragon, and dinosaurs. Nuke and Flame are used for compositing and finishing
