Description

Especially for younger audiences, Coca Cola is as much of a regular feature of birthday parties as it is music. We utilized the 100th birthday of the Coke contour bottle to directly address people around the world on their birthday, delivering enjoyable and shareable branded content in a fresh and relevant way to revitalize a positive bonding towards the product and creating the customer's desire to drink Coke on his special day.

A birthday is a very private matter and brands usually don’t play any role there. Birthdays are more about family and friends. People want to celebrate and for that you need music. That’s where The Birthday Bottle Song comes into action.

Execution

Instead of just celebrating the 100th birthday of the Coke bottle, we wanted to celebrate everybody's birthday together with Coke.

The idea: Celebrating everybody's birthday by turning the glass Coke bottle into a shareable birthday song.

We found an innovative solution to digitally showcase the iconic Coke bottle in a shareable, relevant way. We composed a birthday song, with soundwaves perfectly matching the bottle's iconic contour shape.

The song is joyful and intended to spread happiness, while directly addressing customers to reassure a positive bonding towards the product at a relevant time such as birthday parties.

Via Soundcloud the song could be shared, sent and posted to birthday boys and girls on Facebook around the world. To promote the idea and present the process behind it, we created a short film and spread it on Youtube.

Outcome

Over 50'000 people listened to the song already on the first day of its release. We’ve gotten tens of thousands impressions on Soundcloud and Youtube. And people asked radio stations to play the song to say happy birthday to their friends. Bottlebeats turned an icon of the 20th century into an enjoyable, shareable and relevant audiovisual experience of the 21st century.
