Mono business sections in UK newspapers The Independent’s and Times’ were published in colour for the first time, as was the Alex cartoon in The Telegraph.Visitors to business websites were greeted by a mono version of the home page which phased into colour over a few seconds.Colour posters were placed in “grey” business environments, including billboards with 3D lightbulbs that changed colour.On Eurosport, sponsored vignettes featured classic football that changed from mono to colour.
Outcome
This campaign boasted fantastic results. Within the key colour copier segment, Xerox shipments nearly tripled year-on-year. Xerox marketshare grew from 57% to 62.6%,and the company achieved an 18% hike in revenues.
