Execution

We felt that media expression should not be limited by the frame of a display, and would be more effective if it could freely show contents irregardless of the display borders, and in this we could present an all-new paradigm in media presentation.

So we invested in our internal R&D team and over the course of several months produced the demonstration form of the system. This was introduced to our potential clients and became the prototype model that our final product was based on.

Our in-house design team produced the media contents, and we firstly worked to most greatly dramatize the presentation of the visual material with expressive movement of the displays within computer simulations.

To effectively realize the expression of these movements, our engineers designed and built layered modules, fabricated the hardware parts, and assembled the finished prototypes. The result of this planning is that our designers and engineers worked in tandem to optimize the blending of robotics and multimedia, to create a comprehensive, unified system. With this we were able to seamlessly connect the flow of media contents with mechanical motion, and by directly observing both elements could fine-tune them and create a harmonious blend in presentation.

We presented the Moving Display prototype to a variety of clients, proceeding with redesigning the contents and mechanical motion of the system to match brands’ concept and identity.

Soon after, Moving Display made its world debut at the Samsung Pavilion at CES 2013, and the life-like movement of the “dancing displays” caught the attention of tens of thousands of visitors from all around the world.

And now not only at such expositions, but we also look forward to great potential for continuous and more effective expression in the promotion of all kinds of brands at a variety of venues.

Outcome

Our present Moving Display system continues to evolve and develop to be able to accommodate more diverse contents presentation and exhibition applications. We plan to integrate greater freedom of display movement (up, down, rotation, oscillation) within the unified media/robotics system, plus real-time control and the development of interactive new media devices.

And with the expanding possibilities of this new Moving Display, we feel poised at this juncture to assist in providing new solutions to clients for more artistic, effective presentations of diverse commercial content.

We felt that much of Moving Display’s potential was proven to us by the great attention paid by visitors to the CES 2013 Samsung Exhibit as well as its use in the unveiling and exhibition of the GM Spark at the 2013 Seoul Motor Show. Since then, we've continued to receive numerous proposals for Moving Display design and presentation.
