TV characters see a Coke and do the Beat Game. Interactive TV audience completes missing words of the Beat Chant by sending SMS to win Coke products. Internet Flash Animation allowed people to practice the moves, while ringtones and logos are downloadable through the mobile phone.Beat Game Challenge Booths were set up at fiestas, and University-wide competitions for the ultimate winner were launched.Comic strips and PR releases were also deployed.
Outcome
In no time at all, the whole country was playing the Coca-Cola Beat Game! It generated buzz and raves, from print write-ups to teen chat rooms. Coca-Cola Beat campaign generated the highest advertising copy recall among all Coke ads to date, despite being outspent by competitors!
