Background
Turkish Airlines, Turkey's global brand, signed a major cooperation as the main sponsor of the Champions League. For the first time in the history of the Champions League, an airline brand became the main sponsor and the grand final was to be played in Istanbul. Football fans from all over the world were coming to Istanbul to watch the match. We focused our communication on the international terminal and aimed to prepare a remarkable work specific to the medium.
Strategy
We planned a communication that would both show the power of the brand and announce the Champions League sponsorship in an interesting way to the guests coming to Istanbul to watch the Champions League final match, perhaps for the first time. We prepared a special outdooor work by targeting the place where they would spend the most time at the airport.
Execution
In the international terminal of Istanbul Airport, an area that can be easily seen from the passport area and waiting room was selected. For this area, where visitors wait for paperwork, we prepared a work that reflects the imagination of a football-loving child announcing THY's Champions League sponsorship. The work, which was prepared in 3D, took its place on the international terminal screens after a long preliminary preparation process.
Outcome
As the summer season opened and airport tourist traffic increased, we reached all domestic and foreign tourists at Istanbul Airport. Approximately 4,125,552 international passengers saw our work at the airport. With posts made from THY accounts:
