Description
An Indian marketplace is alive with certain characteristic sounds. Vendors hawking their wares in trademark styles, tea-sellers with peculiar accents, temple bells accompanied by the chanting of traditional hymns and kids singing nonsense verse. This spot is an aural montage of all these sounds, heard through the ears of a blind person. So all these sounds are transformed into street directions such as ‘turn right’, ‘go straight’ or ‘take a left at the checkpost’. Because to a blind person walking the street, these are not merely sounds, they are signboards that help him find his way.
