Execution

We had to come up with an idea that can make ridged potato chips more attractive than flat potato chips. We focused on its ridged shape.

So we tried to find out a Chinese word which has the same definition as “ridged”.

The Chinese word ??[aotu] has the meaning below:

1)Ridged

2) Sexy body shape

3) Cool & bold attitude

More importantly Chinese people love the concept of the word ??[aotu].

We decided to use this fact.

As a result, we’ve come up with an idea to test Chinese people with a fun event

and It was very successful.

Outcome

1,980,000 people visited the website of ?? Hao You Qu.

Music video was watched by 26,000,000 viewers.

660,000 people participated in the promotion. 570,000 chose ?? Hao You Qu.

The sales of ?? Hao You Qu steadily increased by 36% compare to 2013.

Through this test, young Chinese people who have unconsciously chosen

the flat potato chips, now started to choose what they really like
