The day after the victory, Nike collected 50 kilos of clay from the La Cartuja facilities, from the court where the final had been played, before it was dismantled. As a souvenir of this great achievement for Spanish tennis, we then sent the clay to over 1,500 Spanish tennis clubs. The clay would act as a source of great inspiration for future generations of Spanish tennis players. The key message of the mailing piece was "We don’t know who the up and coming Nadal’s or Moya’s are, but we do know where they are."
Outcome
The most important clubs in Spain received a numbered jar of clay from La Cartuja, which they now exhibit with pride in their trophy rooms.
