Especially for the IT industry, the day is one of the most important moments in which to spread the brand philosophy with a sense of humour.
Execution
Google Maps 8-bit A fusion of an April Fool’s prank video and actual user experience.
A product teaser video introduces the new map service that is developed only for NES, or Nintendo Entertainment System, as an April Fool's Day prank.
A trial version on Google Maps is actually launched. Google cloud server converts the regular map to 8-bit in real-time. Users all over the world can experience the 8-bit Maps on their personal computers.
Outcome
