Description

Olaf & Otto is the first Dutch commercial video log. It's a viral extension of the overall campaign promoting Heineken's 'blowhorn hat' during Euro 2004. The log featured two Dutch soccer fans (Olaf & Otto) who constantly posted their home made videos – before and during the matches of the Dutch team, based on timeliness. The log was picked up by over 600 web logs who linked the site, half of them distributing the videos. Next to the 112,094 downloads, within three weeks from the log itself, the videos were also sent through by email (peer2peer). Olaf & Otto became the talk of the town, with the secret consent of Heineken (only two people knew about this project and all videos were posted without approval of the advertiser).
