Description

To engage audiences on a subject that isn’t relatable, we created an immersive virtual adventure where audiences are transported from the heart of an urban city into the rainforests of Sumatra. Through the use of Google Tango technology, audiences are able to experience a virtual rainforest at their own pace, exploring more than 10,000 square feet of museum space. They can come up close with the most endangered wildlife, and observe them in their natural habitats - all without leaving the urban jungle.

Execution

We spent 6 months designing, developing and testing a permanent installation to feature at ArtScience Museum in Singapore. It’s available free of charge to the public, and can accommodate up to 50 users at a time. It covers 10,000 square feet in the museum, across two different levels. There are 5 different animals to interact with, each with their own animations; and all plants are endemic to South East Asia. We are planning to update it and introduce new animals / interactions over time.

Outcome

In less than a month, 10,581 visitors tried the experience.

More than 5,000 actual trees are being planted in Sumatra.

Raised over $190,000

1391Km distance has been walked by visitors.
