Idea

How do the iconic 501 jeans sound like? We started by asking ourselves this question while crafting the second edition of Levi's Music Project. Levi's, a brand with such a long-lasting relationship with music, focused 2019 edition on giving visibility to producers and the democratization of music. If today anyone can make music from everywhere with only a computer and wi-fi, we believed we were able to create our own unique sound as well.

So, we decided to bring Levi’s, literally, inside to music creating a useful tool for producers. With the collaboration of producer Alizzz (Rosalia, Marc Anthony, Becky G) we produced a base of samples and sounds made from Levi's clothes: zippers, buttons, friction of jeans, etc.

We came up with Levi's Sound Pack: A pack of cool downloadable sounds from Levi’s. Now, musicians and producers around the world can use it to create their music for free.

Execution

This special action is just a part of all activations we developed for Levi’s Music Project Spain celebrating its second edition. We wanted to go an step beyond to explain the soul of the project and how the brand it is involved with culture and music. After explain the project, collaborated with many magazines and media we understood the need to give something that would generate relevance and help us to emphasize the concept of musical democratization, related to production, and that was the center of our message.

Once we created Levi’s Sound Pack, in collaboration with producer Alizzz and collective Hello Samples, we upload it to their website -https://www.hellosamples.com-. This is a website where many packs with samples, sounds and musical resources are hosted and ready to download for professionals. We decided to give it for free, to inspire as many people as possible. Otherwise we filmed a video explaining creative process of Levi’s Sound Pack. How we created and recorded with Alizzz. This video allowed us to explain this project and we amplified through musical and lifestyle online magazines, like Rockdelux (main music magazine in Spain), WAG1 or iconic MTV.

So we use Levi’s Sound Pack as a real resource for music lovers and creators and a tool to explain Levi’s Music Project Spain, where producer Alizzz is teaching talented youngs about secrets of music production. This activation works in both sides for us.

Levi’s Sound Pack production started on January 2019 and was ready on March. We upload it during April and explain the process to our audience. After we launched all communications explaining the project.
