Showcasing the Michelin Man fighting an evil gas pump, this :45 TV spot is a fitting extension of Michelin’s new global advertising campaign - “The Right Tire Changes Everything” - illustrating the competitive advantages of Michelin tires, in this execution fuel economy. The creative garners attention as the television spot brings us into the Michelin Man’s world while he is defeating the evil gas pump. However, instead of seeing the Michelin Man in the “real” world as in the past, the audience is entering into his world – a world of mobility where the inhabitants face the challenges brought on by using the wrong tires. The animated campaign allows us to dramatize serious situations, like safety & fuel efficiency, in a way that isn’t scary to consumers. The Michelin Man provides solutions and reminds consumers that not only do Michelin tires offer better fuel efficiency, but also that the right tire changes everything.
