Execution

T-Mobile decided to bring the campaign’s key visual to live for the product advertisement of the new T-Mobile G1 phone: In concave citylights hundreds of rose petals were flying around a mock up of the new T-Mobile G1 phone with the help of two small ventilators placed hidden at the bottom.

On both sides of the citylights you could read the product message as well. The headline quotes a famous song from Hildegard Knef “Für mich soll´s rote Rosen regnen” (“For me it shall rain red roses”) - which is a great connection with the campaign visual but also fits perfectly to the tonality for the new phone from T-Mobile.Throughout central Vienna the placement was especially at highly frequented places like bus shelters where the viewers have some time to enjoy the spectacle while waiting.

Outcome

The response was phenomenal: People passing by the placement stopped and observed with full interest the show of the citylights and product message. Many of them called people or took pictures with their mobile. Industry newspapers reported about how to visualize and promote a product in such an innovative way.On the very first day some pictures occurred on the fanpage on Facebook which was founded for the whole Rain Of Flowers campaign by some fans. The response was very positive, all comments liked the idea very much.
