Description

giffgaff are a small UK mobile network and this film promotes their “Unlock a Phone, Unlock a Chicken” program of rehoming a battery chicken every time a new member unlocks their phone and joins. The film features Keith Harris & Orville who are a ventriloquist duo who appeared on UK kid’s TV in the 80’s – cultural icons of the past. Keith Harris was reimagined as an angsty rapper venting the tyranny of being locked into long mobile contracts and Orville as the mastermind of a prison break for his feathered friends. The style of the piece is classic hip hop music video with all the pathos and lens flare you’d expect of the genre but with rather more unlikely lead characters. At the end of the piece Keith is enlightened and Orville has accomplished his mission. “Respect!”.
