Background

We got the challenge to create a LIVE merchandising action for Mc Donalds at the reality show Big Brother Brasil by taking advantage of the current brazilian campaign that spoke about the Metaverse (Mequiverso).

With this briefing, we imagined how a Mc Donalds store should be in the future to build an immersive experience on the virtual world.

Big Brother is the most popular show in Brasil television and its amazing parties are a space for new experimental Technologies that create buzz and engagement on all social medias.

Our objective were to reinforce McDonald´s as an innovative and fun brand.

Idea

The creative idea behind McDonald's campaign was to create an immersive, futuristic McDonald's store, with VR technology.

The store featured robots that receive orders and printed sandwiches, delivering them to the party in the real world. The sandwiches were designed to be very realistic, creating a desire to buy.

This experience was multiplayer, allowing participants to interact with each other, take selfies, customize avatars, and have fun. To add to the excitement, the same avatars from the VR experience were dancing at the party, just like the participants of the reality show. We hired a dancer to wear motion capture equipment and reproduced the unique dance styles of each participant.

 

Overall, the idea of Mequiverso campaign was a unique and innovative way to promote McDonald's. By utilizing VR, we created an unforgettable experience for both participants and viewers, increasing brand awareness and customer loyalty in the process.

Strategy

Our marketing strategy for McDonald's action on the popular reality show Big Brother Brasil was to engage the Brazilian reality massive rating to benefit McDonald´s while bringing the futuristic VR experience of the client´s metaverse to leverage audience for the show.

The idea was to create a unique campaign to be streamed LIVE during more than 2 hours on BBB by leveraging the millions of viewers of the reality show to promote Mc Donald´s image as an innovative brand that offers delicious meals, fast service and tasty sandwiches.

 

We have created this campaign to provide an unforgettable experience for our customers creating an immersive experience with virtual reality.

Outcome

We became trending topic with #mequiverso on brazilian social medias. Mc Donald´s Brasil and many celebrities reposted and commented on tweets creating engagement. The client´s feedback was: “The best action ever”!
