Description

The yearly charity event Music for Life by radio station Studio Brussels has always been raising awareness and funds for large charities. But next to the big charity organisations we all know, there are hundreds of small organisations that we don’t all know of but that are doing a great job.

So this year we decided to turn it all around.

Instead of focusing on one specific good cause, we decided to offer the small charities the opportunity of getting national awareness and funds.

Creating the first open platform charity.

Any volunteer could register any small official charity of which they thought it deserved attention and funds.

Then we offered these volunteers and charities all the tools they needed to help them advertise their fundraising initiative.

The audience could then pick which charity they wanted to support. Studio Brussel offered them media space on their own radio station and website, but also on national television.

Helping all these different small causes to reach millions of people. And making the individual fundraising events a success. This enormous crowd sourced campaign got everyone moving.

732 different charities were officially registered.

2500 fundraising events were organised by volunteers.

These events got free campaigns and media from Studio Brussels. The entire campaign got 2,2 million worth of free media exposure.

2.5 million euro was collected by the people.

Many small charities got large amounts of much needed financial support and attention they never had before.

This completely new way of charity will be used again next year.
