Creating instant statistical visualizations for any football player, at any level, at any stage of their career is no small feat. To manage the huge amounts of data coming into the tool, partnerships were formed with two of the world’s leading statistics companies, and a special algorithm was created to turn incoming hard data into dynamic graphs on the site.For the player tutorials, video shoots were coordinated with NFL athletes in cities all across the country, creating a thorough video education that was scripted, planned, shot and post-produced entirely in-house.

At launch, Head2Head was promoted through a number of avenues including email blasts, a Nike Football page on Facebook, and videos on stat partner sites. It was also timed to coincide with the epic “Fate” television spot for Nike Football, which drove to the tool on nikefootball.com and featured two of its premier athletes going head to head themselves.

Outcome

Head2Head received a tremendous response from both client and consumer alike. Nikefootball.com saw a significant spike in visitors at launch, and the tool has maintained consistent usage levels even during the off-season. With Head2Head, Nike Football has developed an interactive tool that’s useful in every aspect of competitive high school football players’ lives.
