When Porsche launched the new Boxster GTS in March 2014 the Porsche GTS Routes app was simultaneously developed. Focus of this Porsche app was to record routes using GPS and capture GTS moments. Upon a few months after hundreds of routes were recorded by app users, the real community was launched together with the new 911 GTS. The responsive designed community platform motivates users to discover spectacular routes all over the world. Thanks to comprehensive filters and functions routes can easily be explored on a modified Google Map. Furthermore they can be rated, commented, bookmarked and shared on social media.

Outcome

Only a few months after launching the GTS community over 1,200 routes have been recorded around the globe. Almost 200,000 visitors and a remarkable 2.8 times higher dwell time compared to the other web specials are amazing indications that users love spending their time in the GTS community. Users understand the Porsche community more as a benefit than advertising due to an unobtrusively branding. Getting in touch with the target audience combined with driving pleasure as topic seems to be an appropriate way to stumble into attractive GTS models recommended by Porsche for spectacular routes.
