The work was born out of BBC Radio 3’s public service remit ‘to above all experiment.’ During it’s 70th year we wanted to remind everyone of Radio 3’s willingness to do just this and it’s desire to make music and culture available to all.

Two contemporary composers Matthew Herbett and Soweto Kinch and the poet Alice Oswald wrote special pieces of work for us. Films were made to interpret and reflect these commissions. They all collaborated or performed to allow all the viewers to benefit from the experience without compromise.

All three pieces were aired across all the BBC channels.

Radio and online films also helped audiences get a deeper understanding of the work.
