Background
In 2020 rapper Gunna was on his way to becoming one of the world’s top artists. To promote the release of his album WUNNA on Spotify, we created a one-of-a-kind action figure that embodied his alter-ego, and with it a campaign that boosted the release to the top of the charts.
Idea
To promote the release of his album WUNNA on Spotify, we created a one-of-a-kind action figure that embodied his alter-ego, and with it a campaign that boosted the release to the top of the charts.
Strategy
On album release day we unveiled the WUNNA action figure on Gunna and Spotify socials, driving to the album and causing buzz around where to get the actual collectible.
Execution
Post release, we gave limited quantities to select fans and friends of Gunna, and unveiled a stop motion series of adult swim-inspired videos featuring the WUNNA action figure. In the comedic videos we see WUNNA coming face to face with Gunna, making a Tik-Tok to his own song, and driving past fans in Miami.
