The process involved casting a wide net on both the east and west coast in a search to find someone who was visually impaired, and could provide an accurate, nuanced performance. Beyond the lead, the aim with the rest of the cast was to find a diverse pool of real people with soul, humility and substance, to anchor the everyday.
