Background

Many choose to end their lives in modern Japanese society.

When you're born, every action you take seems like a choice you've made, but maybe you're just walking down the track that's been set in front of you, a track no different to others.

In the social system where living as such is strongly affirmed, to choose to die - whatever the reasons are, could be the most thought-out action and a choice of a lifetime for a human being born irrespective of their own will. Why don' t we jump outside of the box and go off rail?

Idea

People should live actively like and animal and not live by the rules or the system of society.

It' s about time to reconsider our lives through the theme 'suicide'.

Strategy

By bringing together the three layers of the devastated Tokyo in an abstract space, the smiling office workers who dance with each other without doubting the current situation, and an artist who prays for humanity, it brings out an extraordinary and mysterious view of the world. Instead of being alive, we are proposing the meaning of living as a human being. Also, to illustrate the epitome of this modern world, we filmed the whole film with a smartphone (Google Pixel 3) camera, an icon in this age, to achieve the vividness of the theme.

Execution

Posted on YouTube to reach global audience. Survive Tokyo has been introduced by international and domestic media.

Outcome

In this time where rabid expressions are very challenging, we think that there are countless numbers of expressionists and artists who are afraid of causing scandals through SNS. We got comments from those people saying that this music video gave them courage not to be afraid of expressing themselves and as a result made a difference within the society.
