Background
With Cif’s Beautiful When Clean campaign, we aimed to clean the seas and cities and boost the wellbeing of people, as research indicates that clean houses and cities have an important effect in making people feel good.
Idea
Cif Çöpkapars have been developed to collect surface wastes from the Bosphorus by constantly operating and even cleaning microplastic particles in the sea.
27 Cif Çöpkapars have been installed in the Bosphorus so far and the filters of Cif Çöpkapars were reduced to 0.3mm to support the Marmara Sea campaign to collect the mucilage on the surface that accumulated on the coasts and this prevented the waste from sinking to the bottom.
We also supported Cif Çöpkapars by renewing and cleaning up the pedestrian underpasses in Eminönü & Karaköy and Zincirlikuyu Metrobus Station and constructing a downtown park which is the first park built in compliance with social distancing rules in Turkey.
Strategy
With every project we do, we have transformed the areas we clean into our campaign presentation channels.
Execution
Through the 27 Cif Çöpkapars we installed, we managed to collect 32 tons of wastes in total out of our seas since the beginning of our project.
Outcome
According to Campaign Recognition Research, Cif is the first brand that 75% of people living in Turkey think of when "environmental cleanliness" is mentioned. 85% of people know that "It's Beautiful When It's Clean" belongs to Cif. The number of people who had heard about the campaign for the first time is 60%. Çöpkapar project was also described as a tool to combat Marine Pollution IMM's (İBB) Environment Report.
