Description

The Craftsmen’s Dinner is a six-part online series commissioned by The Balvenie, in which the acclaimed two-star Michelin chef Michel Roux Jr. sets out on a journey to unveil the true meaning of craftsmanship. In this exploration of outstanding artistry, he uncovers the stories behind some of the UK’s finest culinary craftspeople.

In ‘Ferraby Knives’, episode one of the series, Michel Roux Jr. visits one of the last remaining Knifesmiths in the UK, Will Ferraby, to learn how some of the world’s sharpest blades are made. Michel Roux Jr’s visit to Ferraby’s Sheffield-based workshop, based in a Victorian cutlery works, shows him first-hand how Ferraby Knives is keeping Sheffield’s iconic steel legacy alive. Ferraby’s deep understanding of the materials he works with and his quest to adopt traditional knife-making methods, mean he produces a product of exceptional high-quality that is highly-revered amongst culinary professionals.
