Description

The book “A Story of Many Stories” reveals a story hidden on the pages 60 of sixty books from the greatests authors of all times. The book’s concept follows the creative theme of The 60th Literature Fair of Porto Alegre advertising campaign, which happened in November 2014. All titles from the ads and posters, as well as the voice-over of the TV film were made with words and sentences from pages 60 of literature world-class books, after a detailed research involving over 500 books. A writer from Porto Alegre, Josué Orsolin, whose career took off in 2014, was invited to conceive the book, distributed in July 2015 among prospected sponsors and opinion leaders to the next fair.

Execution

The design of the piece needed to pass the idea of a set of books, a compilation of the great books of all times represented by their pages 60. The paper texture, page color, the layout and text highlights were made to make every page unique. In order to make all the pages look like the originals, was necessary to find papers with old texture and colors, classical typefaces and diagramming style similar to the time when the books were published. But the highlights needed a contemporary look. The book's finishing was as natural as possible, pages hand sewn with needle and threads, glued and coated cover manually. The low relief on the cover passed the final idea of searching for the right words on each page.

Outcome

The book of the 60th anniversary of the Fair was an important piece to attract attention and sponsors to the following fair. Despite the financial crisis that has gripped the country in 2015, the Literature Fair of Porto Alegre, gathered national sponsors, having 113 exhibitors. 445,000 books were sold, indicating a growth of 11.25% over the previous year.
