The Foundation and its agency decided to address a dramatic, little-known consequence of abandonment: EUTHANASIA. Indeed, when pets are abandoned, they too often end up euthanized within 7 days due to lack of space in shelters and pounds. So there is an urgent need to make the public aware that one of the consequences of abandonment is, unfortunately, death.
A film directed by Maïwenn (well-known French director - Polisse, Mon Roi...)
which allegorically depicts an abandoned dog, tried and condemned by a
court for having been a faithful, loving pet. Revealing that in France the death sentence somehow still exists - for the innoncent.
The director, renowned for her cinematographic sensibility, direction of actors
and narrative force, was able to bring all the dramatic intensity necessary to
the subject.
