The film opens with a little girl saying goodbye to her father, who has to work over the Christmas holidays. She gives him a letter to post; it’s addressed to ‘Santa’. Later, working on a wind farm, Dad finds the envelope, chases the last mailboat, and is capsized by a whale. Washed up on a beach, he decides to deliver the letter himself.

After an arduous journey, he arrives at Santa’s grotto, only to find it deserted. He drops the envelope and collapses, exhausted. A Coke truck pulls up and the unseen driver offers him a ride home. When they arrive, the driver hands him the letter. Surprised, dad opens it and reads the message: ‘Please bring daddy home for Christmas’. He looks up, sees his daughter and they have an emotional reunion. The Coke truck pulls away and only then we realise that the driver is Santa Claus himself.
